New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday questioned secretary of Bihar Deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav with alleged land-for-jobs scam.
Sanjay Yadav was summoned to appear before the agency on Saturday, a day after the CBI chargesheeted Tejashwi’s father Lalu Prasad, mother Rabri Devi and sister Misa Bharti in the case, news agency PTI quoted officials as saying.
Officials said that Sanjay, who had served as Personal Secretary to Tejashwi during his first tenure as Deputy CM in 2015 as well, was summoned earlier also but he had challenged the CBI notices before the Delhi High Court.
What is a land-for-jobs scam?
It is alleged that between 2004-2009, when Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister, in lieu of giving jobs, Yadav allegedly took possession of their land.
According to the complaint letter filed in this case, Lalu Yadav had taken land at prime location in lieu of a job.
On receipt of the complaint, the CBI investigated the matter and filed a chargesheet against 16 including Lalu Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi in this case.
