Caught On CCTV: 3 Prisoners Flee Custody From Police Van

A video of a bizarre incident is going viral across various social media platforms in which at least three prisoner were caught escaping.

Jhansi: In a stunning turn of events, three prisoners who being transported for a court appearance at the Railway Court in Madya Pradesh’s Jhansi managed to escape from police custody. The entire incident was captured by CCTV cameras in the vicinity and has since gone viral on social media.

The viral video showcases how the three accused individuals managed to escape from inside a police van stationed outside the court premises. Shockingly, the police officers left the van unattended, providing the prisoners with an opportunity to open the vehicle’s door and flee.

Escape in broad daylight

This audacious escape unfolded in broad daylight around 1:40 PM on Tuesday, September 19. Approximately 11 police officers were responsible for transporting seven prisoners to the Railway Court in Jhansi. Out of the seven detainees on board, three managed to escape.

Charges against the escapees

The escaped prisoners, identified as Brijendra (27), Shailendra (20), and Gyanprasad (23), were all brought to be produced on charges related to the theft of mobile phones and other valuables from railway stations.

Manhunt underway

As of now, the escaped prisoners remain at large, with no apprehensions made. The police have assured that all the accused individuals will be captured soon. In response to this incident, eight police officers, including three sub-inspectors, have been suspended, and an inquiry has been initiated to investigate their negligence in performing their official duties.

 

Intensive search operation

A special committee has been established to probe the matter, and two additional teams have been formed to track down the fugitive detainees. The teams are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage from the area and conducting search operations in nearby regions, including Madhya Pradesh. Relatives of the escaped detainees have also been detained for questioning. The police are confident that they will soon regain custody of the fugitives.

The video of this escape has gone viral on social media platforms, leading to criticism of the Uttar Pradesh Police for their perceived negligence. Netizens are sharing the video with captions related to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent statements on law enforcement and justice, expressing their concern about public safety.

This dramatic escape highlights the need for enhanced security measures and stricter protocols during the transportation of prisoners to prevent such incidents in the future.
