A shocking incident on the Amritsar-Katihar Express has gone viral, showing a ticket examiner (TTE) and a coach attendant violently assaulting a drunk passenger. The man, identified as Sheikh Tazuddin, was traveling from Siwan, Bihar to New Delhi when the events unfolded.
On January 10, 2025, Tazuddin reportedly consumed alcohol with two coach attendants in the train’s M2 coach. Witnesses say he began to misbehave with female passengers. When TTE Rajesh Kumar intervened, Tazuddin allegedly attacked him. This prompted the attendants to retaliate violently.
Video footage shows Tazuddin being pinned down by the TTE while one of the attendants, Vikram Chauhan, struck him with a belt. The videos depict a brutal scene where the passenger is kicked and stomped on while being verbally abused. Another passenger, Dheeraj Yadav, claimed that the attendant had initially joined Tazuddin in drinking before the situation escalated.

Railway police were alerted and arrived at the scene to remove Tazuddin from the train. The TTE was taken into custody, while Chauhan managed to escape. Following these events, complaints were filed against both attendants and the TTE. The Railways have since suspended Rajesh Kumar and are investigating further. They are also gathering contact information from other passengers for more details about the incident.
The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many calling for accountability and stricter actions against such violence on public transport. The Railways have assured that they will take necessary measures against those involved in this shocking act of violence.
