Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh: A video reportedly from MP’s Chhatarpur district is going viral on social media. In the viral clip, the doctors from a district hospital are allegedly seen dragging and beating a 77-year-old man. According to reports, they initially thrashed the elderly man, dragged him, and tried to lock him up later in the hospital police post.
The incident caught on camera is believed to have occurred around 11.30 am on April 17, 2024. Reports added that the doctors left the scene after people present there started filming the event. Concerns related to the incident were later raised, and many charged the health department in the district.

The old man, identified as Udhavlal Joshi, alleged that his wife had been suffering from some stomach issues for many days. They were standing in line, waiting for their turn, when suddenly the doctors came. He further alleged that the hospital authorities said that he had broken the line. An argument soon broke out between the two.
Udhavlal added that the doctor kicked and slapped him near his ear and then dragged him to the hospital police post. Dr. Rajesh Mishra, whom the Joshi has charged, however, refuted his claims. Meanwhile, Civil surgeon GL Ahirwar noted that the place was overcrowded.
The matter is currently being investigated, and the authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those involved. This is, however, not the first instance when such an incident has taken place in a hospital in the district. There have been reports of similar incidents in the past.
