New Delhi: Delhi Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday issued notice to a minor wrestler and his father, who alleged outgoing Wrestling Federation Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment and took back their statement later, and sought their responses to know the motive behind the act.
After hearing the Delhi Police’s request to cancel the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) against the WFI chief, the court directed the father-daughter duo to submit their reply by August 1.
The court said it would take a call over the cancellation of the POCSO act after their reply.
The minor, a few days earlier, changed her statement saying the matter was not of sexual harassment. But it was discrimination. She with her father said that they have registered a fake case of sexual harassment.
The Delhi Police on June 15 registered a cancellation report in court. The report said the police did not find any evidence of sexual harassment against the minor.
The Delhi Police said that they had submitted a 550 pages cancellation request of the POCSO Act and the court would take a call on it.
