New Delhi: An Indian student (24) killed in Canada after being brutally assaulted during a confrontation with robbers who were trying to steal his car, said media reports. The youth used to work as a pizza delivery partner.
On July 9 at around 2 AM, victim named Gurvinder Nath in Mississauga’s Britannia and Creditview roads was delivering pizza when he countered the robbers.
As per a report of the news agency PTI, Inspector Phil King of Peel Regional Police’s Homicide Bureau informed that the investigation is on already and there are suspicion that the food order was placed in order to lure the driver to this specific area.

He added that they have recovered an audio recording of the Pizza order placed before the attack. The cops said the miscreants assaulted Nath and left him in critical condition. The robbers fled from the crime scene.
Rushed To Hospital But Declared Dead
After witnessing this, the passerbys stopped by to provide help to the injured. They immediately rushed Nath to the truam centre where he was declared dead on July 14.
The CBC reported that Consul General of India in Toronto Siddhartha Nath extended his condolences to the bereaved family, friends and the wider community. He said, “It was heartening for me to see how the community responded, came together both online and physically to support the family in this time of grief,” reported the Consul General.
Candlelight Vigil For Nath
Nath had come to Canada in July 2021 with the hopes to start-up a business of his own. Grieving his death, more a 200 people gathered on the road in Mississauga to carry out a a candlelight vigil for Nath.
