Sushil Lakwani, who was standing outside airport, said , “I have hit him (one of the accused in Raja Raghuvanshi case) because I am angry that a resident of Indore was killed. They (the accused) should be hanged till death. The woman killed the man with full planning.”

The four accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case were taken to Shillong by Shillong Police after obtaining their seven-day transit remand for further investigation in the case.

On the murder case, Meghalaya Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong said, “I am surprised to see the statement made by the family members of Sonam. Now, we already got all the details and we have seen everything. Why should they still ask about CBI investigation? I fail to understand that. I would like to request all of them – be patient, let a detailed investigation go on and truth will come out.”

The deputy CM further said,” I think the image of Meghalaya has gone down just because of the ignorance of the concerned individuals, concerned agencies, be it media, the press, print and electronic media where they created the narrative without any kind of ground of reality whether Meghalaya is safe or not…They just blamed people of Meghalaya, that Meghalaya is a den of criminals…So, yesterday the whole of India came to know the truth. The truth has come out and I am sure that from now on the same media and people who wrote and spoke negatively against Meghalaya – I request all of them to rectify their statements and think about the sentiment of our people here in Meghalaya. People in Meghalaya are religious and good-fearing. We are law-abiding citizens.”
