Wayanad Parliamentary Seat in Kerala
The Wayanad parliamentary seat in Kerala was vacated by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who chose to retain his family’s stronghold, Rae Bareli. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, his sister, is expected to contest in the Wayanad bypoll, marking her electoral debut.
States Set for Bye-Elections
Uttar Pradesh:
Nine assembly constituencies will go to the polls: Meerapur, Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Khair, Karhal, Phulpur, Katehari, Majhawan, and Sishamau.
Rajasthan:
Seven assembly seats are set for by-elections: Chorasi, Khinswar, Dauda, Jhunjunu, Deoli-Unlara, Salumber, and Ramgarh.
West Bengal:
Six assembly constituencies in West Bengal will also hold bypolls: Taldangra, Stai, Naihati, Horoa, Medinipur, and Madarihat.
Assam:
Five assembly seats in Assam will witness bye-elections: Dholai, Sidli, Bongaigaon, Behali, and Samaguri.
Bihar:
Four assembly seats will be contested in Bihar: Ramgarh, Tarari, Imamganj, and Belaganj.
Karnataka:
Three assembly constituencies in Karnataka—Shiaggaon, Sandur, and Channapatna—will go to the polls.
Other States:
- Madhya Pradesh: Budhni and Vijaypur.
- Sikkim: Soreng Chakung and Namchi Singhithang.
- Kerala: Palakkad and Chelakkara.

The bye-election for the Kedarnath assembly seat in Uttarakhand will be held on November 20.
Pending Bypoll Dates
The Milkipur assembly constituency and West Bengal’s Lok Sabha seat are yet to have their dates confirmed as the petitions are still pending in the high courts. The Milkipur seat was previously won by Samajwadi Party leader Awadhesh Prasad, who recently secured the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat, a region known for the historic Ayodhya Ram temple.
