By-poll Election Result: Amidst show of strength of the INDIA and NDA alliance in the country, the results of by-elections on 7 assembly seats of 6 states have been announced. BJP has won 3 out of a total of 7 seats, but it has to face a big loss in UP's Ghosi Assembly seat. Samajwadi Party Candidate Sudhakar Singh has defeated Dara Singh Chauhan, who resigned from Samajwadi Party to contest on BJP ticket.
TMC, Congress, and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have also won one seat each.
Baby Devi of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has won from the Dumri seat by 15 thousand votes. and in Bengal's Dhupguri seat by-polls, TMC candidate Nirmal Chandra Roy won by around 4000 votes.
BJP Won 2 seats in Tripura
In Tripura, the BJP won both seats (Dhanpur and Boxanagar). The won would give strength in maintaining the identity of its government in the state. The BJP had fielded Tafazzal Hussain from Boxanagar and Bindu Debnath from Dhanpur.
BJP has also won the Bageshwar seat of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Here BJP's Parvati Das defeated Congress candidate Basant Kumar by about two and a half thousand votes. The Congress has got good news from the only Puthupalli seat in Kerala. Here its candidate Chandy Oman defeated Jack Thomas of Left by a huge margin of 37 thousand votes.
