A bus carrying workers from a brick kiln in Shahpur caught fire in Todi village, Mnoharpur Police Station Area. Identified as a sleeper bus, as per preliminary observations, two people have been feared dead in the accident, and several others have sustained burn injuries.
The bus is said to have caught fire after coming into close contact with a high-tension wire.

As per a Telegraph report, Additional Superintendent of Police Tejpal Singh stated that the bus was transporting labourers from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh to a brick kiln in Manoharpur. He explained that gas cylinders and other household items placed on top of the bus came into contact with a high-tension wire while the vehicle was passing along an internal unpaved road near a village in Manoharpur. The contact with the live wire caused the bus to catch fire.

Some of the labourers managed to escape by jumping out of the bus. The fire was eventually extinguished, and the injured were taken to a government hospital in Shahpura. Six of the more severely injured were referred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur for further treatment, while others received primary care in Shahpura.
Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Prem Chand Bairwa confirmed that a formal investigation into the incident would be launched.
