Manvendra is a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr. His journey to UPSC was not easy. As a specially abled boy, Manvendra’s mother, Renu Singh, played a key role in shaping his career since his school days. Manvendra faced financial and mental struggles after the death of his father, Manoj Kumar.

Manvendra’s mother, who is a school principal, encouraged him to study, and he followed her guidance. Renu Singh said that he was initially not able to hold a pencil, and she put in a lot of effort to help him learn how to hold it.

He completed his Class 10 studies from Khalsa Public School and Class 12 from Modern Public School in Bulandshahr. He was also preparing for JEE Advanced along with his Class 12 examinations and cracked it by securing an AIR 63 rank.

He got admission to IIT Patna and completed his B.Tech. Manvendra then started preparing for UPSC-IES and successfully cracked the examination.

Renu Singh said she was speechless at her son’s performance. Manvendra said, “No physical disability can stop our success.”

Manvendra Singh’s UPSC-IES journey has become an example for all those who complain about a lack of resources and fail to move forward in life by considering disability a curse.
