Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has filed a petition with the Karnataka High Court requesting the cancellation of a child sexual abuse case filed against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
Recently, the police submitted a chargesheet against Mr. Yediyurappa in a specialized POCSO court. Following a molestation case filed by the Sadashivanagar police earlier this year, the Karnataka Director General of Police, Alok Mohan, transferred the investigation to the crime investigation department (CID).

The case stems from a complaint lodged by the mother of a 17-year-old girl, who accused BS Yediyurappa of molesting her daughter during a meeting at the BJP leader’s residence in Dollars Colony in February this year.
Mr. Yediyurappa has denied the accusation, stating, “People will teach a lesson to those conspiring against me.” The 54-year-old woman who accused him of child sex abuse passed away last month at a private hospital due to lung cancer. The CID questioned Mr. Yediyurappa for three hours on June 17 regarding the case. Earlier, the Karnataka High Court had issued orders preventing the CID from arresting him in connection with this matter.
