New Delhi: The Varanasi court of Friday allowed the carbon dating for the entire premise of the Gyanvapi complex, excluding the disputed part. As per the information, the court concluded hearing arguments on the plea last Friday (July 14).
Appearing for the Hindu side, Vishnu Shankar Jain said, “I have been informed, my application has been accepted and the court has directed an ASI survey of the entire Gyanvapi Masjid complex, except for the Vaju Tank (Shivling), which has been sealed.”
Five Hindu Women Sought Permission To Worship
The court considered a petition filed in May this year on behalf of five women. The appelants had asked permission to worship at the Sringar Gauri Sthal inside the temple premises in another petition. It is worth noting that a structure was found in the Gyanvapi complex that was considered as ‘Shivling’ from one side, while the another side called it a fountain.
The veridct that was pronounced today was on the ASI survey, which we had demanded, except the sealed area in the campus. It should be noted that a seprate case is pending in the Supreme Court regarding the sealed area in the campus.

What is Carbon Dating?
