Ahmedabad: In a joint operation, the Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad and the Indian Coast Guard seized a Pakistani boat with 40 kg heroin worth Rs 200 crore in the Arabian Sea off the Gujarat coast on Wednesday, news agency ANI quoted senior ICG officials as saying.

Two fast attack boats of ICG caught Pakistani boat 33 nautical miles off Jakhau coast in Gujarat, officials added.

Following the seize, Pakistani crew along with boat are being brought to Jakhau for further investigation.
“Pakistani boat apprehended by security agencies with narcotics worth Rs 200 crores being towed to Jakhau port by the Indian Coast Guard ship,” the officials said.
Six Pakistani crew members of the boat were also apprehended.
“The heroin was meant to be transported to Punjab by road after being offloaded on the Gujarat coast. Based on a specific tip- off, we intercepted the boat which left from Pakistan, and caught six Pakistani nationals with 40 kg of heroin,” news agency PTI quoted senior ATS official as saying.
