Air India express flight from Abu Dhabi to Calicut caught fire on Friday morning in air. Emergency was declared at Abu Dhabi Airport and the flight safely landed in Abu Dhabi. According to the latest information, the left engine of an Air India flight caught flame in mid-flight, prompting the plane crew to declare a full emergency.
All the passengers were safely evacuated.

A statement has been issued by Air India Express. On the other hand, DGCA has also issued a statement informing about the fire in the engine of the aircraft.

Sources said the pilot of Air India Express flight number IX348 saw the flames. After this he was dropped back at Abu Dhabi Airport. A total of 184 passengers were on board the Air India Express flight.
