7 Devotees Returning From Maha Kumbh Killed In Horrific Truck Collision

The accident happened on NH-30 near Sihora, and all the victims were from Andhra Pradesh. Authorities are investigating to find out what caused the crash.

The devotees were coming back from Maha Kumbh after taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. Jabalpur’s Collector and Superintendent of Police (SP) reached the spot after the accident.

The Maha Kumbh, the world’s largest spiritual gathering, started on January 13 and will continue until February 26, which is the day of Maha Shivaratri.

According to the Uttar Pradesh government, more than 44 crore devotees had taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam by February 9.

On Monday alone, over 1.02 crore people took a dip in the river by 4 PM. This included more than 10 lakh Kalpwasis (devotees who stay on the banks of the Ganga for a month) and 91.94 lakh other pilgrims.
