New Delhi: CR Kesavan, former Congress leader and great-grandson of C Rajagopalachari (first Indian Governor) joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.
BJP leader and Union Minister General VK Singh welcomed him in BJP at Delhi’s party headquarters. During the event, he said, “I want to thank you for inducting me into the world’s largest political party-BJP, especially on a day when our PM is in Tamil Nadu”.

Earlier, Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Kiren Kumar Reddy who quit Congress a few weeks ago and the son of former union minister and Congress leader AK Antony ‘Anil Antony’ joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
During a press brief at BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Reddy said that he never imagined leaving the grand-old party, holding the party leadership’s “wrong decision” to make him take the step of separation.
Reddy alleged that Congress is being damaged in state after state due to its “bad and wrong decisions” as it does not interact with people and takes the opinions of leaders.
Anil Antony, son of former Union Minister and Congress leader AK Antony also, joined the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday.
Anil Antony, a former congress member from Kerala, left the party in January 2023 following the row over BBC’s documentary on the 2002 Gujarat riots and PM Modi.
In a formal event, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, V Murlidharan and Kerala BJP chief K Surendran Welcomed the former Congress leader to BJP.
