At least 10 workers have been rescued, but 47 are still trapped after an avalanche hit Badrinath and nearby areas in Uttarakhand on Friday.
The trapped workers were reportedly employed by a contractor working for the Border Roads Organisation (BRO). Rescue teams are still working to free the remaining workers trapped under the snow.
According to early reports, there were 57 workers at the site. So far, 10 have been rescued safely, and some workers managed to escape during the avalanche.
Rescue operations are still ongoing, with teams from the administration and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on their way to the site. The workers were working on road construction under a private contractor.
ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) and Garhwal Scouts, along with local people, are helping in the rescue efforts.
Although no official statement has been released about the operation yet, sources say the situation is difficult due to heavy snowfall in the area over the past two days.
