A woman’s body was found in a blue drum with her hands and legs bound in a terrifying event. The woman’s corpse was found in Garba attire at a residence in the Vaishali Avenue Colony in Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas. NDTV reported that she was drowned in the drum by a man because she was in a relationship with another man.
The deceased was identified as Lakshita Chaudhary (22) and killed Monday and the suspect is a 35-year-old man named Monu, police said, adding that the suspect voluntarily went to the police station after the event.
According to Lakshita’s family, she left on Monday, stating that she was going to college, but never returned. After filing a missing person report with the police, the searches began. She had been missing for three days before her body was discovered in Monu’s house in the Vaishali Avenue Colony.
How was the body retrieved?
The people in Vaishali Avenue sensed an acrid odor coming from Monu’s household, causing a state of fear in the area. The police were immediately contacted and arrived at the location to recover the body from the blue barrel.
Monu acknowledged his crime and told police that he was in love with Lakshita. He stated that when he realized Lakshita was seeing someone else, he was filled with rage.
He invited Lakshita to his residence where he tied her hands and feet. Furthermore, he eventually placed her into a blue drum filled with water and departed from the home. According to police, the body is in custody and is being sent for an autopsy, while the accused is still being questioned.
Murders Involving Blue Drums
There have been at least two previous murders involving blue drums with relationship issues at their core. In March this year, a merchant navy officer, Suarabh Rajput, was killed by his wife Sonam and her lover Sahil. This particular case echoed due to the savagery of the killing and the clever plan to decompose the body.
In August, similarly, a man was killed by his wife and her lover in their rented home in Alwar Rajasthan, and the landlady on the first floor of the house found the body in the blue drum.
