New Delhi: After visiting several violence-hit parts in West Bengal, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Shankar Prasad lashed out at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, highlighting the wrecked up situation in the state post the Panchayat Polls.
West Bengal violence: ‘What kind of Mamata ji’s Police is this?,’ says BJP MP RS Prasad on
“Painful scenarios were witnessed at people’s houses who were attacked during West Bengal Panchayat elections. Homes were damaged, and CCTVs were broken. Everything was destroyed. There is no action by the police. Women, kids, elderly… no one was spared. People are scared…,” said the Bihar MP.
The BJP leader further lashed out at the state police alleging that the uniform police did not take any action to protect civilian, while the latter were suffering the heat of the violence. He informed that the BJP delegation visited Basirghat area among many other areas, which was the most disputed and affected area.
He asked, “What kind of police is this of Mamata ji who is not taking action even though the attacks are being made on poor people?”
“I raised a few questions in yesterday’s press conference after which, I saw in newspaper that Mamata ji said she regrets the violence. For the first time, she said she regrets the violence. Mamata ji, nothing would happen by just regretting, an action has to be taken,” said the BJP MP.
