The Bharatiya Janata Party unveiled its manifesto, named ‘Sankalp Patra’ bearing the slogan “Modi ki Guarantee,” on Sunday, April 14, for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president JP Nadda, and other senior leaders were present at the party headquarters in New Delhi for the release.

The release of the manifesto coincided with the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, a prominent leader from the Dalit community and one of the key architects of the Indian Constitution.
The BJP had formed a 27-member manifesto committee led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The committee convened twice to discuss the contents of the manifesto after the party initiated various initiatives, such as sending vans across the country and conducting social media campaigns, to gather suggestions from the public.
At the event, PM Modi emphasized the significance of the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra,’ stating that the entire nation eagerly anticipates its release. He highlighted the party’s track record of fulfilling promises over the past decade and emphasized that the manifesto strengthens the pillars of a developed India: youth, women, the poor, and farmers
During the event, JP Nadda highlighted the developmental strides made under the BJP’s leadership, including the connectivity of 60,000 new villages with pucca roads and the provision of all-weather roads. He expressed satisfaction at the unprecedented empowerment of villages, citing the extension of optical fiber connectivity to 1.2 lakh panchayats, providing internet facilities. Nadda also noted that 25 crore people in India have transcended the poverty line, with extreme poverty reduced to less than 1% according to the International Monetary Fund.

Rajnath Singh expressed pride in the BJP’s commitment to fulfilling every promise outlined in its “Sankalp Patra.”
During the release of the BJP’s manifesto, Modi personally met with several beneficiaries of central government schemes and presented them with copies of the manifesto.

1. Assurance of continuity: PM Modi guaranteed the continuation of the free ration scheme for the next five years.
2. Expansion of MUDRA Yojana: The BJP plans to increase the loan limit under the MUDRA Yojana from ₹10 lakh to ₹20 lakh, building on its success in turning millions into entrepreneurs.
3. Initiative for free electricity: The party aims to reduce electricity bills for millions of families to zero and create income opportunities from electricity through schemes like the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme.
4. Inclusion in Ayushman Bharat Yojana: Individuals above 75 years of age will be brought under the purview of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, addressing concerns about healthcare expenses, especially for the elderly and middle class.
5. One nation, one election and a common electoral roll system will be introduced.
