Bihar: The body of Rajiv Kumar Jha, former BJP district vice president known as Pappu Jha, was discovered under suspicious circumstances in a house near his residence in Shivpuri Mohalla, Nagar police station area. Upon receiving the news, many BJP leaders and workers rushed to the scene and raised concerns about foul play. They demanded the presence of the Superintendent of Police (SP).
SP Amit Ranjan and police officials arrived, conducted a thorough inspection of the area, and gathered details about the incident. Narpatganj MLA Jaiprakash Yadav and former district president Santosh Surana, among other BJP leaders present, suspected foul play upon seeing the body near the stairs.
Rajiv Kumar Jha, also known as Pappu Jha, had a long association with the BJP. Originally from Jahanpur in Araria, he constructed his own residence in Shivpuri Ward No. 9 of the Nagar police station area, where he lived. However, his body was discovered under suspicious circumstances not at his own house but at the residence of Prakash Gupta in Kaliaganj, located nearby. The main gate of the house was locked from the inside. Pradeep Kumar Mishra, also known as Tullu Mishra, from Kharhaiya Basti, had rented the house and operated an office there.
According to local residents, four individuals were present on the premises during the night. Tenant Pradeep Mishra, known as Tullu Mishra, stated that on Wednesday evening, Roshan Thakur and Sunil Jha from Shivpuri had taken the keys to the house from him.
On Thursday morning, when Roshan Thakur was contacted, he mentioned that Pappu Jha was inside the same house and had the keys. Later on Thursday afternoon, when Tullu Mishra arrived with a laborer to clean, they found the main gate locked and the staircase gate open. Despite calling out loudly with no response, the laborer entered by jumping over the boundary wall. They were shocked to discover the deceased body near the stairs. Following this, they informed the police by dialing 112. The motorcycle belonging to Pappu Jha was also found parked on the premises.
Neighbors are quietly discussing the presence of several individuals at the house last night, mentioning a gathering with noise. Narpatganj MLA Jaiprakash Yadav, upon arriving at the scene, raised suspicions of foul play, noting the suspicious circumstances surrounding the body’s discovery. He emphasized that Pappu Jha, a longstanding BJP member who held key roles, had served the party dutifully.
Yadav expressed that losing such a dedicated worker was a significant blow to the BJP in the district. He called for a thorough and modern investigation into the case. SP Amit Ranjan, who also arrived, confirmed that Pappu Jha’s body was found under suspicious conditions. He assured that a modern and technical investigation was underway and promised that details would be revealed soon.
