Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Singh has accused wrestler Vinesh Phogat of cheating to participate in the Olympic games. The Former BJP MP who faced sexual harassment allegations from wresters, claimed that she could not win a medal because ‘God punished her’.
The Ex-MP charged Phogat and questioned her “Can a player compete in two weight categories in a single day? Is it possible to delay the trials for five hours after weigh-in? He further raised allegations that Phogat resorted to cheating, so God has punished her.

Brij Bhushan Accuses Congress
Reacting to Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia’s move to join the Congress, former WFI president Brij Bhushan stated, “On January 18, 2023, when the demonstration began at Jantar Mantar, I warned that it was a Congress-led movement.” He particularly blamed Bhupinder Hooda, Deepender Hooda, Priyanka, and Rahul.
He expressed that that his claim proved right today as Congress was behind the conspiracy, with Bhupinder Hooda at the helm. He further alleged that Bhupinder Hooda, Deepender Hooda, Bajrang, and Vinesh did not protest for the respect of women but for political gain. ” They caused embarrassment for the daughters of Haryana, and exploited the honor of women for politics, he added.
Pawan Khera Defends Congress’s Stance
In response to Brij Bhushan Singh’s remarks, Congress leader Pawan Khera stated that the BJP supports those who are wrong, while Congress fights for the victims. He declared that six players filed an FIR against Singh, and Congress takes pride in standing with its daughters now and in the future. “We will never regret supporting our daughters, they should regret their stance,” he added.
