BJP Leader And Cop Slap Each Other In Karnataka’s Chitradurga; Video Goes Viral

Madhugiri BJP President Hanumant Gowda allegedly abused sub-inspector Gadilinga Gowdar who slapped the leader. The BJP leader also slapped him back, after which the cop slapped him twice.

A Karnataka BJP leader and a cop slapped each other in Chitradurga. The incident took place nearly 270 kilometers from the state capital, Bengaluru.

The cop and BJP leader got involved into a verbal spat after the cop asked the BJP and aides to go home who were gathered at Durgada Siri Hotel Road. The BJP leader got irked with his instruction and an altercation occurred between the two.

A video of the incident went viral on social media. The aides intervened  to stop the leader and cop, who charged at each other in the video clip. 

Later, the police took Gowda into custody while the leader alleged that the cop misbehaved and assaulted him. 

BJP’s state unit chief BY Vijayendra hit out at the ruling Congress party. He posted the video on X and wrote, “  Since the Congress came to power in the state, cases of murder, extortion, robbery and rape have been continuously occurring. A situation has arisen where the safety of the common people cannot be provided and law and order has completely collapsed. Meanwhile, some low-level police officers are resorting to police brutality and even physically assaulting the common people and responsible citizens.”
