The Union Minister brought pointed out that Mahatama Gandhi had asked for disbandoning the Congress after independence but it did not happen.

“Kharge ji is living example of that and is showing the nation that what Gandhi ji said was true and he’s a national president who doesn’t know to speak. Unless he apologises, he has no right to be here,” he added.

Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju also denounced the remarks of Kharge and said, “I cannot believe that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge could stoop so low and use such objectionable remarks. He should understand his responsibilities as a leader of a political party. We’re not enemies, we’re rivals. It’s distasteful, unfortunate and uncalled for.”

Meanwhile, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affiars and BJP leader Prahlad Joshi reiterated his “Duplicate Congress” remarks.

He said, ” …I don’t want to speak much about it. But what is Kharge thinking about himself and his party? This is duplicate Congress. Mahatma Gandhi had said about disbanding Congress. Rahul Gandhi is going ahead in getting that done soon”
