New Delhi: Nitish Kumar may resign from the post of Chief Minister of Bihar today. According to sources Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav can become Deputy CM in the new government. Nitish Kumar has also sought an appointment with the Governor of Bihar Fagu Chauhan.

Following these developments it had become more clear that the BJP-JDU alliance is on the verge of collapse in Bihar. On the other hand, Congress has sent a letter of support to its MLAs to JDU. Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed has said that BJP is sure to go in Bihar, we are ready to support Nitish Kumar.

This is not the first time, when Nitish Kumar is going to form the government with the Grand Alliance leaving the NDA. Before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Nitish Kumar broke ties with the BJP in protest against Narendra Modi being declared as the PM candidate of the NDA. However, after 2 years, in 2017 he left the Grand Alliance and returned to the NDA and contested the assembly elections in 2020 with the BJP.

Key developments at the moment in Bihar politics

  1. Bihar BJP will hold a press conference at around 1:30 on the latest political developments in Bihar.
  2. Order has come from Delhi High Command for Bihar BJP. If sources are to be believed, the Delhi High Command has said that no BJP minister will resign, BJP wants Nitish Kumar to sack BJP ministers himself.
  3. Leaders of RJD, Congress, Left parties involved in Bihar Mahagathbandhan will go to Nitish Kumar with a letter of support.
  4. If sources are to be believed, JDU has sought an appointment with Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan.

Nitish might resign from the post of CM

If sources are to be believed, it is also being said that Nitish Kumar will not resign from the post of Chief Minister, he will only sack BJP ministers. After the information of this news, news is now coming from the BJP camp that all the BJP ministers will resign even before Nitish Kumar’s sacking.

Earlier, separate meetings of the Legislature Party of Janata Dal United and Rashtriya Janata Dal were held. Before the JDU meeting, party MPs, MLAs and MLCs reached Nitish Kumar’s residence.

JDU’s MLC Kumud Verma, who reached the meeting, was asked the purpose of the meeting, he said that our meeting is on the issue of census. When asked if JD(U) was not happy in alliance with BJP in the state, Kumud Verma said that everything is fine in NDA, we are happy.

As per sources 4 demands were made from BJP by JDU

Many reasons are being given behind the split between BJP and JDU in Bihar, but if our sources are to be believed, many demands were made by JDU from the BJP, but when the BJP did not pay attention to these demands, the JDU itself from the NDA folder. Decided to take it out.

Demands of JDU from BJP as per sources

  1. Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha should be removed.
  2. Bihar BJP state president Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal should also be changed.
  3. There were allegations of corruption on Deputy CM Tarkishore Prasad, he should also be replaced.
  4. Position of 2 cabinet and 2 ministers of state should be given in the center.

6 crore more ministerial offer to some JDU MLAs

On the other hand, if sources are to be believed, some JDU MLAs have been offered six crore rupees and ministerial posts. JDU MLAs claim that they have audio recordings of the phone calls. At present, it is not clear from whose side this offer of JDU MLAs has been given.
