Earlier, reacting to the inappropriate language of the BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, BSP leader Danish Ali on Friday wrote a letter to the speaker Om Birla requesting to take cognizance of the incident and to take necessary action.

Speaking to the reporters, BSP leader Danish Ali said, “I have submitted my letter to the office of the Lok Sabha Speaker, and I am confident that the Lok Sabha Speaker will acknowledge the incident and take appropriate action. I have officially raised this issue, and all the details are on record. It is worth noting that this is the first time such offensive language has been directed towards an elected Member of Parliament.”

In his letter to the speaker, Ali wrote, “I write to you with deep anguish regarding the speech given in the Lok Sabha by an MP of the BJP, Mr Ramesh Bidhuri, during the discussion on Chandrayaan success… During the course of his speech, he directed the most foul, abusive invectives against me, which are part of the records of the Lok Sabha. Among the words he directed against me were ‘Bhadwa’ (pimp),’Katwa’ (circumcised one),‘Mullah ugravadi’ (Muslim terrorist) ‘atankvadi’ ( terrorist) etc… This is most unfortunate and the fact that it has happened in a new Parliament building under your leadership as Speaker is truly heartbreaking for me as a minority member of this great nation and an elected Member of Parliament as well.”

According to the sources in Lok Sabha secretariat, “Lok Sabha Speaker regarded the use of inappropriate language by a member with great concern. He has issued a warning, stating that if such behavior is repeated in the future, stringent action will be taken.”

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
