Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday claimed that BJP was planning to cause caste-based riots in the state.
While addressing a Public rally in Paschim Medinipur, she said BJP want to create a Manipur-like situation in West Bengal.
“Bhartiya Janata Party is planning to cause caste-based riots in West Bengal just like they did in Manipur using their money power,” said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday.
Her comment came a day after West Bengal Minister Birbaha Hansda’s convoy was attacked. She said the minister’s car was attacked by using the name of the Kurmi community, “The community will never do this kind of stuff,” said Mamata Banerjee.
Earlier, on Friday, Hansda sustained minor injuries after her vehicle which was part of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee’s convoy were attacked allegedly by the Kurmi Community protesting for the demand of scheduled tribe (ST) status.
