Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Tuesday that the BJP has accepted defeat in Chhattisgarh and the central agencies will take a short break and return to raid again before the Lok Sabha election.

Baghel said, “BJP has accepted its defeat as they are using agencies to target opposition leaders. They (ED, IT) will take a short break. After November 17, they will take a break. They also have families. Before Lok Sabha (elections), they will again return.”

He also hit out at the former Chief Minister of the state Raman Singh.

“Whoever has been caught with money has a photograph of themselves with Raman Singh. The day before yesterday, no one knew Shubham Soni. All of a sudden, he has become the owner of the Mahadev app. And he is such an owner who spends Rs 250 crore on the wedding of his servant. He would be the first person to do this,” Baghel said.

The ED is its probe in the Mahadev betting app case had last week claimed that a forensic analysis and a statement made by a ‘cash courier’ have led to ‘startling allegations’ that Mahadev betting app promoters paid about Rs 508 crore to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Baghel so far, and that “these are subject matter of investigation.”

He also alleged that ever since Ajit Pawar joined the BJP his name was removed from the probe of ED.

Baghel said, “As Ajit Pawar joined the BJP, his name was removed from the ED. Himanta Biswa Sarma is Chief Minister now, his name was in Saradha Chit Fund corruption. There are many examples like this where, after being washed in ‘Modi Washing Powder’, all the stains are cleaned. ”

Voting for the first phase of the Chattisgarh Assembly polls for 20 seats in the state’s southern region began on Tuesday morning amid tight security. Of the 20 constituencies that is witnessing polling in the state, 12 are from the Bastar division.

Chhattisgarh, which has a 90-member house is undergoing elections in two phases, with the second phase scheduled for November 17.
