By-Polls Results 2024: Counting for the 2024 Jharkhand and Maharashtra Assembly Elections commenced at 8 am on Saturday, alongside the counting of votes of by-polls from 15 states. In Maharashtra, Wednesday’s Legislative Assembly polling saw a remarkable turnout of over 66%, exceeding the 61% recorded in the 2019 elections. The first phase of polling in Jharkhand took place on November 13, covering 43 out of the total 81 assembly seats. This marked the beginning of the two-phase election process in the state, with the second phase held on November 20.
The by-polls were also held across 15 states, covering 48 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats, with key contests taking place in Uttar Pradesh and Wayanad, Kerala. Notably, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made her electoral debut in Wayanad, Kerala. The counting of votes has commenced for all seats, with the final tally to come by tonight.
By-Polls Results 2024
Wayanad Lok Sabha: Priyanka Gandhi, Congress general secretary, has won the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-poll with a huge margin. She got 622338 votes and won the seat with a margin of 410931. Congress Candidate Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Defeted CPI’s Sathyan Mokeri who got 211407 votes and occupied the second spot. BJP’s Navya Haridas got 109939 votes and came third.
Nanded Lok Sabha: Congress candidate Chavan Ravindra Vasantrao is leading from this Lok Sabha constituency.
Uttar Pradesh (UP) Assembly By-polls: In UP by-poll Rashtriya Lok Dal won 1 seat, BJP won 6 and Samajwadi Party won 2 seats.
West Bengal Assembly By-polls: All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) is won all, 6 by-poll seats in West Bengal.
Rajasthan Assembly By-polls: BJP wins 5 seats, Congress gets 1 seat and Bharat Adivasi Party gets 1 seat in Rajasthan by-polls
Additionally, BJP has won 3 by-poll seats in Assam. United People’s Party, Liberal had won one seat, Asom Gana Parishad won one in Assam by-poll. In Bihar, BJP wins two seats, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) won 1, and JDU won one seat. Congress sweeps Karnataka and won all three by-poll seats. On the other end BJP won Chhattisgarh, Kedarnath and Gujarat assembly by-poll. In Punjab assembly by-poll AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) won three seats, whereas Congress won 1 seat there. Meanwhile, Congress and BJP won 1-1 seat in Madhya Pradesh assembly by-polls.
