Election Result 2023: The counting of votes for state assembly elections held in three Northeastern States ‘Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya’ is completed. The Bharatiya Janata party retained power in Tripura and Nagaland while Meghalaya got a hung assembly with the National People’s Party emerging as the single largest party.
The Bharatiya Janata Party outplayed the Left and Congress alliance and the Tripura Matha party in Tripura and hit the majority mark in Nagaland comfortably with NDPP. NPP of Conrad Sangma emerged as the single largest party but has not got the majority mark in Meghalaya.

Tripura
The State Assembly election in Tripura(2023) was too easy for the incumbent Bhartiya Janta Party Government as They were to fight the alliance of the Left-congress alliance and a new political party of former Tripura’s Royals Tripura Matha. But, BJP has passed the electoral exam by winning 33 seats out of 60 total constituencies.

Nagaland
The alliance of NDPP and BJP has managed to retain power in Nagaland. Big parties like Congress and NPF were rejected by the people of Nagaland.

Meghalaya
The people of Meghalaya have given a hung verdict, no party hit the mark of the majority which is 30 seats. Incumbent Chief Minister Cornad Sangma’s party NPP came out as the single largest party with 25 seats.
