Birsa Munda Jayanti 2024: PM Modi Extends Wishes On Janjatiya Gaurav Divas And Jharkhand Foundation Day

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled a statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, in Delhi on the occasion of 'Janjatiya Gaurav Divas'.

Birsa Munda Jayanti 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to countrymen on occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, which marks the commencement of the 150th Birth Anniversary Year celebration of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda. PM Modi will unveil a commemorative coin and postal stamp in honour of Bhagwan Birsa on Thursday.

Sharing post on X, PM Modi wrote, “Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji sacrificed everything to protect the pride and dignity of the motherland. I pay my heartfelt tribute to him on the auspicious occasion of his birth anniversary, ‘Tribal Pride Day’.

He also informed about the celebration of Birsa Munda Jayanti and wrote, “The 150th birth anniversary year of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji is going to start from tomorrow. On the occasion of Tribal Pride Day, at around 11 am in Jamui, Bihar, we will have the privilege of releasing a commemorative coin and postage stamp in his honour, besides laying the foundation stone and inaugurating many projects.”

PM Modi had announced the celebration of Birsa Munda Jayanti as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas on 2021. Birsa Munda was born on 15 November 1875 in Ulihatu in Ranchi district of Bengal Presidency (now in Khunti district of Jharkhand).

PM Modi Greets On Jharkhand Foundation Day

PM Modi also extended wishes to people of Jharkhand on the foundation day of the state. He wrote on X, “Many best wishes to all my brothers and sisters of Jharkhand on the foundation day of the state. This land, irrigated by the struggle and sacrifice of the tribal society, has always made the country proud. I wish that this state, full of natural resources, moves ahead at a fast pace on the path of progress.”

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled a statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, in Delhi on the occasion of ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ today.

PM Modi has reached Jamui, Bihar on 15th November to commemorate Janjatiya Gaurav Divas. He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 6,640 crore aimed at uplifting tribal communities and improving infrastructure in rural and remote areas of the region.
