Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha has assured assistance to the families and informed that investigation is going on regarding the accident in Patna metro tunnel construction site.

In a shocking incident, two workers have died and eight were injured in an accident during metro tunnel construction in Patna. The accident occurred on Monday night informed the police. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. The accident occurred due to fault in machine when construction work was in progress, said Pirbahore Thana SHO, Abdul Halim.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha called the Patna mishap as a sheer case of negligence. He said that we should take lesson from this incident to avoid such accidents in future. He assured that the government will provide assistance to the families. “This is an unfortunate incident. The investigation is ongoing and we are receiving information about it,” said the Deputy CM.

Ministers Reaction On The Accident

Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin has reacted on the Patna Metro tunnel construction accident. Speaking to ANI, he called the incident unfortunate and said necessary steps would be taken after investigation. Nabin said, “We have received info about the death of two people and four are injured…They are under treatment…We directed the Patna DM and the Patna metro administrations to do an enquiry and submit a report…After this further action will be taken.”

He further added that the labourers are from Odisha and compensation will be given to their families. He assured that if any negligence is found out in the investigation, then strict action will be taken.

Odisha Labour Minister Ganesh Ram Khuntia also reacted on the death of two and injury of six Odiya labourers in Patna. He told ANI that this is a very unfortunate and sad incident. He assured that Odisha government will provide the adequate compensation. Odisha Minister said that he will talk to Bihar government over this incident. “This is very unfortunate. I just received the news and the Odisha government will give them compensation…We will talk to the Bihar government,” said Ganesh.

This mishap highlights the importance of safety measures in construction sites with high risks.
