Sitamarhi Police has officially announced an investigation into the incident. The police’s involvement was reportedly an attempt to intervene and separate two women engaged in a street fight.

Vinod Kumar, the Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO), provided clarification in a video statement, connecting the incident to the kidnapping of a girl. He explained that after the girl was rescued, both parties involved visited the police station and subsequently clashed outside. This altercation resulted in a traffic jam on the road, prompting the police officer to use his baton to disperse the crowd, as stated by Kumar.
