During the JDU National Executive meeting at the Constitution Club in Delhi on Saturday, they announced Sanjay Jha as the acting president of JDU.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar suggested Sanjay Jha’s name, which all JDU leaders unanimously agreed upon. Sanjay Jha is known as a trusted ally of Nitish Kumar. Now, let’s explore Sanjay Jha’s political career.

Sanjay Kumar began his political journey with the BJP and later switched to JDU. He currently serves as the National General Secretary of JDU. During his time with the BJP, he was elected as a Legislative Councilor and also served on the State Planning Board. Jha is recognized for his clean reputation, with no criminal cases filed against him.

Sanjay is known for his close ties with BJP leader Arun Jaitley and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He ran in the 2014 elections as a JDU candidate but lost. Later, he won uncontested in a Legislative Council by-election as a JDU candidate.

Sanjay Jha had fully prepared to run for the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 from Darbhanga with a JDU ticket. However, the seat was allotted to the BJP, preventing him from contesting.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Sanjay Jha ran for the Darbhanga seat on a JDU ticket but was defeated. Sanjay Jha, who hails from Araria Sangram village in Jhanjharpur block of Madhubani district, completed postgraduate studies in history at JNU University in Delhi.
