The seized liquor, originating from Arunachal Pradesh, has been taken to the excise police station.

Acting on a tip-off, the excise department had set up a roadblock to intercept the liquor consignment. When the smugglers spotted the blockade, they redirected the tanker towards a national highway but were eventually forced to abandon it during a police chase, explained Vijay Shekhar Dubey, Assistant Excise Commissioner.

The seized liquor, originating from Arunachal Pradesh, has been taken to the excise police station. Authorities are working to identify and arrest the local trader involved, with a case already registered against him.

Bihar has a strict ban on the sale of liquor, prompting smugglers to devise creative methods for transportation, such as using ambulances, trucks, and even hiding alcohol in specially built compartments within vehicles like petrol tankers.
