Chandan Mishra Murder: Two Suspects Injured In Police Encounter In Bihar’s Arrah

Chandan Mishra, a convicted murderer who was out on parole, was shot dead inside a private hospital in Patna on July 17 by criminals.

Chandan Mishra Murder Case: In a significant development, two suspects involved in the murder of Bihar gangster Chandan Mishra were injured during an encounter with police on Tuesday. The encounter took place in Arrah city of Bhojpur district in Bihar, during a late-night operation by the Bihar Special Task Force (STF) and Bhojpur Police, when they intercepted a group of criminals linked to Chandan’s murder. The miscreants have been identified as Balwant Kumar Singh and Ravi Ranjan Kumar Singh and are undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Bihar Police stated that while two have been injured, a third accused named Abhishek Kumar has also been arrested. Two pistols and one magazine have been seized by the police.

According to sources, they have reportedly admitted to their involvement in the murder case.

Four Accused Arrested In Kolkata

Earlier on Sunday, Bihar police had arrested four accused from Kolkata in connection with Chandan Mishra’s murder. Patna SSP Kartikey K Sharma had confirmed the arrest, adding that the other four are still absconding.

“On 17th July, Chandan Mishra was shot dead in the hospital. The shooters fled to different places after committing the crime. While starting the investigation, raids were conducted by the Patna Police at various places, and many people were questioned. The main shooter, Tausif, was arrested in Kolkata. Kolkata Police and Kolkata STF gave us very commendable support, and due to that support, Tausif was arrested in Kolkata. Along with Tausif, 3 other people were also found there who had a role in this conspiracy…He has been booked in NDPS, Arms Act and attempt to murder cases in the past. Nishu Khan has also been booked in extortion and Arms Act cases in the past, with him his Harsh and Bheem arrested…All 4 of the accused have been arrested in Kolkata,” SSP Kartikey K Sharma said.

“The other four are still absconding and will be arrested soon. The investigation is underway,” he added.

Notably, Chandan Mishra, a convicted murderer who was out on parole, was shot dead inside a private hospital in Patna on July 17 by criminals. The shooters were captured entering his room in a CCTV footage. Following the incident, police stated that the attack was carried out by a rival gang. Chandan Mishra, a resident of Buxar district, was serving his sentence in Beur Jail and had gone to the hospital for treatment.

Central range (Patna) IG Jitendra Rana said, “A criminal named Chandan Mishra, resident of Buxar district, was admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment, and members of the rival gang shot him. He is undergoing treatment…He was shot multiple times…The assailants are being identified with the help of the Buxar Police…It cannot be ruled out that the security guards of the police were involved in this incident. We will investigate this angle also.”
