New Delhi: An angry mob in Bihar lynched a Muslim truck driver who were transporting cattle bones, a raw material that is used for making medicines. The crowd supsected the raw material was beef and launched an attack at him considering that Id ul Zoha was hours away. The incident took place when deceased Muhammad Zahiruddin (55) was crossing Khori Pakar under Jalalpur police station in Saran district on Wednesday night. As they were heading to the destination, the vehicle developed a snag and stopped. The deceased along with his helper stepped out of the truck to find out what was wrong and attarcted everyone's attention. A crowd gathered at the spot and started questioning about the material that the frieght was carrying. As per a report of the The Indian Express, the driver told the crowd that they were carrying cattle bones to a factory in Nagara that will be used to make medicines. However, the crowd started thrashing Zahiruddin and his helpers. The report further quoted the factory owner who said that everyone managed to run away when the angry mob launched the attack but Zahiruddin as he had an iron rod installed in his leg. The crowd brutally bashed the driver until he died as they blamed him for being Muslim and doing the business of bones and flesh ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. Following in his statement, the owner added that the local police of Jalalpur also reached the spot but they did not intervene in the matter. However, 7 persons have been arersted in the matter.
