New Delhi: The Mumbai police on Thursday arrested a man from Bihar’s Darbhanga for allegedly making threatening phone calls to blow up the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital owned by the Ambani family.

The Mumbai police arrested the person from Bihar in a joint operation with Bihar police.

The man identified as, Rakesh Kumar Mishra, is an unemployed youth and a resident of Brahmpura village. He is brought back to Mumbai by the police.

The police also recovered the mobile phone with which he made the calls.

Mumbai Police deputy commissioner Neelotpal said: The calls were traced and the accused was identified and arrested from Darbhanga village. He will be produced in court on Friday. Further investigation is on.

The accused has been booked under sections 506(2),507 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Threat call to Ambani

On Wednesday, a call was received on the landline number of Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital from an unknown number. The caller threatened to blow up the Hospital and issued threats in the name of some members of the Ambani family.

The Reliance hospital received the call on their landline number at 12:57 pm.

Following this, a case was registered at DB Marg Police Station and further investigation into this matter is being done by the Mumbai Police.
