Bihar: In a shocking incident from Bihar’s Bodh Gaya, a woman was allegedly raped in an ambulance by the driver and technician while being taken to the hospital. The deeply disturbing incident occurred on July 24, after she fainted while participating in the Home Guard recruitment process at the BMP-3 parade ground.
Technician, Ambulance Driver Held Within Two Hours
The woman had collapsed during a race as part of the physical examination round, but instead of receiving medical aid, she was allegedly subjected to rape. Confirming the details in an official statement, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anand Kumar said that the victim informed the police about the assault after regaining consciousness. Her complaint led to the immediate arrest of the technician, Ajit Kumar, and the ambulance driver, Vinay Kumar.
Investigation Underway
A Special Investigation Team has been formed under Bodh Gaya SDPO, Saurabh Jaiswal, to handle the matter. According to reports, a forensic team visited the site to collect evidence. Additionally, CCTV footage was retrieved from the area surrounding the ground to help identify the accused. An FIR has been registered at the police station, and a probe is currently underway.
