Bihar: Former Union Minister Ram Chandra Prasad Singh will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today in Delhi. RCP Singh was the Janata Dal-United (JDU)’s National President. RCP Singh resigned from the JDU after corruption allegations were levelled against him, and the party demanded an explanation.
The party had requested him to explain all immovable properties (land plots) purchased by his family members between 2013 and 2022, or 9 years. RCP Singh resigned from the JDU after the party served him with a notice on corruption charges.
‘Nitish cannot become Prime Minister for seven births,’ RCP Singh stated after resigning
Party employees claimed that RCP Singh and his family members amassed vast wealth between 2013 and 2022. Simultaneously, following his departure, RCP Singh stated that Nitish Kumar will not become Prime Minister in any of his seven births. He referred to Janata Dal-United as a sinking ship.
After the Janata Dal-United did not send RCP Singh to Rajya Sabha in 2022, Ramchandra Prasad Singh, a confidant of CM Nitish Kumar, resigned as a Union Minister on July 6.
His relationship with Nitish Kumar deteriorated after he accepted the position of Union Minister without the Chief Minister’s approval. Apart from that, there was a schism in his and Nitish’s relationship as the RCP became closer to the BJP. RCP Singh, an IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, met Nitish Kumar while on central deputation.
