Bihar Exit Poll 2025: While all see NDA surge, one predicts Mahagathbandhan’s comeback with THIS number of seats

The Bihar Assembly elections concluded with a historic high voter turnout of 66.91 per cent on Tuesday. According to the Election Commission of India, this is the highest voter turnout recorded in the State since 1951.

After voting concluded for the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections on Tuesday, November 11, most exit polls projected a strong win for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP and JD(U). However, there was at least one outlier, a news portal called Journo Mirror that showcased different projections, contrasting from the majority’s predictions.

Predictions shared by Journo Mirror on its Instagram handle favoured the opposition Mahagathbandhan, led by the RJD and Congress. The outlet has estimated them to win around 130-140 seats while placing the NDA at only 100-110 seats. This starkly contrasts with the consensus of other major exit polls, which overwhelmingly predicted an NDA victory.

Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) founded by strategist-turned-leader Prashant Kishor has been put in Others category, with 0-3 seats in Journo Mirror’s exit poll.  Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM is predicted to get 3-4 seats, as per the outlet’s exit poll predictions.

Journo Mirror is a Hindi-language news portal that describes itself with the tagline “Exposing truth, promoting accountability, Journo Mirror, your trusted media watchdog,” on X. According to Google Gemini AI tool analysis, the portal has been active at least since 2021.

Bihar Assembly Election concludes

The Bihar Assembly elections concluded with a historic high voter turnout of 66.91 per cent on Tuesday. According to the Election Commission of India, this is the highest voter turnout recorded in the State since 1951. The ECI data revealed the active participation of female voters, with a voter turnout of 71.6 per cent, compared to 62.8 per cent of male voters casting their vote in both phases of the election.

Bihar Minister on Exit polls

Reacting on the exit polls, Bihar Minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Ashok Chaudhary on Wednesday expressed confidence in forming the government in the state. Speaking to ANI, he said, “This vote is for stopping Jungle Raaj 2. During the Bihar bandh, the way they (Mahagathbandhan) behaved, the way they gave an example of themselves, that is not accepted in governance at all. After Bihar bandh itself people were against them. They are not fit to do governance.”
