Former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav made several major election announcements at a press conference in Bihar. He promised a monthly salary of ₹30,000 and government employee status for Jeevika Didis, permanent jobs for all contract workers, and a job for every household. He accused the current government of corruption. “Every family will have a government job within 20 months of his government’s formation.”
Current Bihar Government is Corrupt
Tejashwi Yadav said that people in Bihar are angry with the current government because of corruption and crime. He added that the government copied his schemes. He said the nomination process is over, and now it is time for election campaigning. People in Bihar want change and are frustrated with the double-engine government. He had announced plans to help those affected by unemployment and inflation, but the current government copied them.

Tejashwi Yadav’s Announcements
“All of you are aware that injustice was done to the Jeevika Didis under this government. We have decided that all Jeevika CM Didis will be made permanent and accorded the status of government employees. Their salary will also be increased to Rs 30,000 per month. This is not an ordinary announcement — it has been the long-standing demand of Jeevika Didis,” Tejashwi Yadav announced while addressing a press conference in Patna.
Direct Challenge to NDA’s Jeevika Didi initiative
The announcement came as a direct challenge to the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s Jeevika Didi initiative, signalling a key plank of the RJD’s upcoming election campaign in Bihar.
