The upcoming Bihar election will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, and counting will be held on the 14th. In the first phase, 121 constituencies will go to the polls on November 6. The date of issue and Notification is October 10, the last date of nomination is October 17, and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is October 20.
In the second phase, 122 constituencies will go to the polls on November 11. The date of Notification is October 13, the last date of nomination is October 20, and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is October 23. Counting of the votes will be held on November 14
Before the announcement, there were expectations, the election would take place on November 22, 2025. As per an update by India TV, the Bihar 2025 assembly election was expected to be conducted in two or three phases, but recent updates have revealed that the elections will be held in two phases.
How were the elections held last year?
In the last two assembly elections, voting in Bihar took place in multiple phases. In the 2020 Bihar assembly elections, the voting took place in three phases: 71 constituencies voted on October 28, 94 constituencies voted on November 3, and 78 constituencies voted on November 7. The election results were declared on November 10.
In the year 2015, the Bihar elections were held in five phases. The Election Commission will soon announce the official dates of the Bihar election. While the NDA, consisting of BJP, JDU, and LJP, will once again be looking to continue their stint in Bihar, India Bloc- consisting of RJD, Congress, and left parties will be aiming to unseat Nitish Kumar.
