Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar announced that the Bihar assembly elections will be held in two phases, with first phase voting scheduled for November 6 and second on November 11. The vote counting will take place on November 14.
ECI’s press conference held on Sunday, October 5, in Patna to review poll preparedness. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, attended the earlier briefing, signaling that the election process in Bihar is moving into its final stages of preparation.
The ECI announced the full schedule of Bihar Assembly Elections, which will include polling phases, polling dates, vote counting and result date.

The ECI delegation, was on a two-day visit to the state, where it convened important meetings in Patna with enforcement agencies to ensure free and fair elections. After these discussions, the Election Commission briefed the media on the current status of election readiness, highlighting measures taken to maintain the integrity of the electoral process. During the press conference, CEC Gyanesh Kumar had stated that the Bihar assembly elections will be held before November 22.
Kumar had announced that 100% webcasting will be implemented to ensure transparency. He also praised the voters and election staff, saying, “We congratulate the voters of India. Thank you to everyone for the successful SIR process. I appeal to all the voters of Bihar to celebrate this festival of democracy with the same enthusiasm as you celebrate Chhath. Everyone should vote and ensure their participation.”
CEC Kumar also highlighted 17 new election initiatives implemented in Bihar. He added, “17 new initiatives have been successfully implemented in Bihar, some will be implemented in the conduct of elections, and some in counting… Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) are responsible for preparing the voter list. In Bihar, there is an ERO in each of the 243 assembly constituencies. Together, they, along with 243 EROs and 90,207 BLOs, completed the task of cleansing the voter list after nearly 22 years.”
