Bihar Election Result 2025: This Assembly election in Bihar is one of the most closely watched in recent memory. The election result will determine if Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD-led INDIA group succeeds in unseating the nine-time chief minister or whether Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U)-BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) maintains its control on power. Therefore, let’s look at the significant issues in these elections that may have an impact on the election results on November 14.
Creation of Jobs for the Youths
According to a report released last year by the Indian government think tank NITI Aayog, Bihar is mostly a state of agriculture with the highest poverty rate in India and an economy that is struggling. The RJD-Congress coalition and the BJP-JD(U) alliance are the two main alliances that have promised to boost the state’s economy via creating jobs.
Implementation of Special Intense Revision (SIR)
The special intense revision (SIR) process was announced by the Indian Election Commission in June of this year. It turned into a conflict between the opposition’s INDIA alliance and the ruling NDA. The names of persons who have passed away or migrated were removed from the Bihar voter roll by the ECI. The opposition said it was a plan to just eliminate voters in order to promote the NDA group led by the BJP. The opposition, led by Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, launched a “Voter Adhikar” march accusing the ECI of “vote theft” after the SIR was contested in the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court however, questioned the timing but refused to stop the SIR. Additionally, it rejected ECI’s proposal to reject Aadhaar cards as identification.
Women Empowerment
Women comprise about half of Bihar’s eligible voters; thus, the two alliances are also appealing to them. Women’s political participation in the state has been steadily increasing, with female voter turnout frequently surpassing that of men. The bloc led by Congress has promised welfare programs like a monthly allowance for women. The Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme is another initiative that the BJP has introduced. In September, 7.5 million women received around $880 million via this program to assist them start businesses.
Industrial and Economic Progress
For many years, Bihar was falling behind in economic, industrial, and infrastructure developments. Nitish Kumar’s “Sushasan” has been compared to Lalu Yadav’s “Jungle Raj” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who believes that the NDA has pushed forward the state’s development. The first double-decker flyover in the state was recently inaugurated by Nitish Kumar, while PM Modi also launched a major highway in the state last month. The chief minister also officially opened the Patna metro’s first phase recently.
With an astounding 47.62% turnout recorded throughout the constituencies until 1:00 PM, voter enthusiasm continued throughout the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections. Voting for this phase started from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm in 122 important constituencies spread across 20 districts. The results of the exit poll are probably going to be released after the second phase of voting concludes on November 11. It is anticipated that the predictions would be released on Tuesday after 6:30.
