Ara Railway Station Case: In a tragic incident, three people were shot dead at Ara Railway station in Bihar. A young man shot a girl and her father and later shot himself, stated the official. The incident occurred on Tuesday on the over bridge between platforms 3 and 4 of the Railway Station. According to eyewitnesses, a man aged 23-24 years, shot at a girl aged 16-17 years and her father. Three of them succumbed to gunshot wounds. Authorities are carrying further investigation into the case to ascertain the motive behind the crime.
What Did Police Say?
ASP Parichay Kumar told ANI, “On the overbridge between platforms 3 and 4 of Ara Railway Station, three people have died of gunshot wounds. According to the eyewitness, a man aged 23-24 years, shot at a girl aged 16-17 years and her father. He later shot himself… Due investigation will follow.”
The deceased girl resided near Godhna Road in Ara and had come to the railway station to board the train to go to Delhi. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) officials arrived at the scene, upon receiving the information about the incident.
“Two people, including the girl, have been killed. The case is under investigation. The accused also died by shooting himself. The victims’ relatives have arrived, and inquiries are ongoing,” added ASP Parichay Kumar.
Probe Underway, Love Affair Suspected
Further investigation is underway, police are gathering evidence and statements to determine the motive behind the attack. The dead bodies have been sent for post-mortem. Forensic Science Laboratory team was called to collect the evidence from the crime scene. ASP Parichay stated that looking at the sequences of the events, it appears to be a case of love affair. He added that family members of the accused have been asked to join the probe.

PF Senior Commandant Prakash Panda said, “Three people have died. The accused, Aman Kumar, a 24-year-old man, a resident of Bhojpur shot dead Jiya Kumari and her father Anil Sinha. He later shot himself. We are investigating… We will make arrangements for CCTV cameras. Although there are around 40 cameras at the railway station, we will get some installed on the foot over bridge… Murder weapon has been seized…”
