The Mahagathbandhan (opposition alliance) in Bihar has announced its candidates for the upcoming bypolls on four Assembly seats, scheduled for November 13. These seats became vacant after the MLAs representing them were elected as MPs in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The last date for filing nominations is October 25, with results to be declared on November 23.
Assembly Constituencies and Alliance Candidates
The four Assembly constituencies involved in the by-elections are Ramgarh, Tarari, Belaganj, and Imamganj. The grand alliance has nominated the following candidates:
- Ajit Kumar Singh from the RJD for Ramgarh
- Vishwanath Yadav from the RJD for Belaganj
- Raju Yadav from CPI(ML) for Tarari
- Roshan Kumar Manjhi alias Rajesh Manjhi for Imamganj
Jan Suraaj Party’s Electoral Debut
Additionally, the Jan Suraaj Party, founded by Prashant Kishor, is entering the fray to test its electoral strength.

NDA’s Candidates for the Bypolls
On the other hand, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has named candidates for two of the four Assembly seats. The BJP has fielded:
- Ashok Kumar Singh from Ramgarh, who previously won this seat in 2015 but lost to RJD candidate Sudhakar Singh in the subsequent election. Vishal Prashant, a newcomer, from Tarari.
The BJP has yet to announce candidates for the remaining two seats.
