Bihar Bandh: BJP Workers Protest In Danapur Over Remarks Against PM Modi And His Late Mother

The BJP workers in Danapur and across Bihar staged a protest as part of a five-hour statewide Bihar Bandh called by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on September 4, 2025.

BJP workers protested in Gaya against the objectionable remarks made about the late mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This remark was made during a Mahagathbandhan program in Bihar, due to which NDA called for a five-hour Bihar bandh.

BJP MLA Sanjay Mayukh said, “The mothers and sisters of Bihar are participating in the Bandh called by NDA over the derogatory remarks against PM Modi’s late mother at a Mahagathbandhan event in Bihar. You cannot run away after being abused. The public of Bihar will give a befitting reply to Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav…”

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad says, “It is the culture of India to respect the mother…If someone from our party had used this kind of language, we would have taken strict action and apologised…The public of Bihar will give a befitting reply to Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav”.

The statewide bandh is in protest against objectionable comments made by Congress workers against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother last week in Darbhanga during the Voter Adhikar Yatra.

Following the announcement, Janata Dal (United) leader Umesh Kushwaha said, “During the opposition’s rally in Darbhanga, abusive words were used against Prime Minister Modi and his mother. This is wrong, both morally and politically.” “Using such language is highly inappropriate, and so far, the Mahagathbandhan leaders have not apologised. This shows how arrogant they are. They have insulted our mothers and sisters, and now we will retaliate. Therefore, the NDA has called for a Bihar bandh,” he said.

According to media reports, emergency services will not be covered during the shutdown. Ambulances, hospitals, air services and other essential services will continue to run uninterrupted to avoid any inconvenience to the people.

Emergency services like hospitals, clinics, medical stores and ambulances will remain active.
Grocery and other essential items will be available.
Petrol pumps will open.
Train services will also continue to run normally.
