The Vikasheel Insan Party (VIP) failed to win a single seat in the Bihar Assembly polls, and its founder Mukesh Sahani—who was projected as the deputy CM face—had campaigned for his party’s candidates contesting on the party symbol in 12 constituencies.
Sahani was adamant about the deputy CM post, and there were media reports suggesting that he was challenging the top leadership of the Mahagathbandhan and was prepared to walk out if he was not offered the position.
But Sahani’s party has drawn a blank so far, and it seems that he will face a tough phase after the Bihar elections, with his political career likely to be at stake.
As per the Election Commission of India (ECI), Mukesh Sahani’s younger brother, Santosh Sahani, stood in the 8th position among 12 contestants from Gaura Bauram.
The party had fielded candidates on 12 seats on the party symbol. The constituencies are: Lauriya, Kesaria, Sikti, Katihar, Alamnagar, Gaura Bauram, Darbhanga, Aurai, Baruraj, Bihpur, Gopalpur and Chainpur.
